I'm not quite sure how I stumbled upon this page, but they have lots of beautiful “green” papers and stationary manufactured in Sri Lanka.
As the name suggests,
Mr. Elliepooh, is actually made from elephant poop.
From the site:
Mr. Ellie Pooh is a new eco-friendly, innovative company
that sells 100% handmade journals, stationery, crafts,
scrapbook/photo albums and various grades of paper
made of 75% Sri Lankan elephant dung (Ellie Pooh Paper).
Mostly, elephant orphanages supply our product Pooh, while
Maximus makes our exotic paper.
All of our paper products are 100% recycled, 75% Pooh
and 100% fun.
The
Maximus webpage is full of fascinating fact about how the age and digestion of the elephant effects the appearance of the paper. What will they think of next? If anyone has any experience with elephant poop paper, can you answer my one remaining question...how does it smell?
There's a "scratch-and-sniff" joke in there, but it seems too easy. Nice blog...
ReplyDeleteI'm still laughing over this one! :) Thanks for sharing!
