‘Tis the Season

I haven’t been able to post as much as I’d like to.  I’ve been busy doing this:

and this:

And stuff like this, which is just awaiting a few final details (like being hung), which is why I can’t show you my holiday home tour, yet.   I’m almost there, but I need my husband for a few hours, so maybe after this weekend I will be ready.   20091210_1401

Just don’t tell me they look like yeti.  That is what my husband said, but I have since given them a haircut.  I wonder if they need another trim.  You’ll see soon enough.

But in the meantime, there have been church Christmas parties, where I helped take photos and had to have my children dressed like this:

There has been the designing of my Christmas cards, which I am hoping to send out by next week.  I cannot reveal them, yet.  But I will say, they have something to do with this cookie:

And did I mention that I have been busy with wedding planning.  I helped with invitations for my SIL’s wedding, which will be right after the New Year.  I will be doing the flowers and setting up the Hot Cocoa bar.  Anyone have any favorite candy sticks that would work as stirrers for hot cocoa?  Send me links to your sources our any other inspiration you have!20091210_1408

And I have been doing some Christmas shopping (here and here.)  One of the ladies that was in my gourmet group this year has this business with her grandma.  Their products are served in some of the best restaurants in the Phoenix area, and her strawberry rhubarb jam, actually got a write up as the best in Phoenix in Phoenix Magazine.  There are some people in my life that appreciate the gift of good food, more than about anything.  I think they will like!

And all of this has been going on, while I am still trying to climb out of that first trimester fog, well into my second trimester, but we were able to squeeze in an ultrasound the other day, and are thrilled to announce that we are expecting a boy and that he looks to be doing very well (and getting big fast.)  His big brother is so glad he won’t be outnumbered any more!

Yet still, among all the chaos, we have to make time for a little silliness and holiday cheer.

Hopefully there will be lots of holiday posts to come in the near future, but if not…you know what I’m up to!
