What are you doing New Year's Eve?

To be honest, I have no idea what we are doing on New Years' Eve. We had a lovely Christmas in our own home, and since that evening have been at my in-laws, in full wedding prep mode. I snuck away to the computer for a few minutes, in case you are looking for some inspiration for a last minute get together. This is what I came up with last year.
Here are a couple of posts about my inspiration (here and here). I still think the New Year Ball makes a great theme for a party.

I am going to be on the New Year's Eve episode of Mom Time TV, and one of the moms there had a great idea. She said that is when they do a neighborhood progressive dinner, like the one I blogged about here:

The progressive dinner idea works well for New Years for a few reasons. First of all, it keeps everyone off the the roads which we know are dangerous that night. Also, participants leave up their Christmas decor so everyone can see it (that means less decorating to do). A progressive dinner means you just have to come up with part of the meal, so it should be a lot less stressful than hosting an entire party.

If you have some fun neighbors without plans that evening, you could throw a party like this together in a short time.

So tell me...what are you doing New Year's Eve?

  1. We're hoping to have a few friends over although not sure on the "total" since quite a few are negligent in rsvping... !:)

  2. I'm ashamed to say...not much! We usually go out to dinner and then spend the evening in front of the fire. But then we are old, married people! I suspect yours will be much more glittery!
