Parties in Progress

I thought I would give you a peek at a few things that have shown up in my mailbox lately to aid in my party planning endeavors.  I'm actually thinking I will hold on the the ABC cups for a little while.  I'm thinking "A is for Alec" could make a very cute first birthday party for my little man, next year.  I won them at Dawn's giveaway (Not Just a Mommy) and they were sent from the Hey Yo Yo Etsy shop.  Very cute, huh?

The tutu in the top picture is for my daughter's birthday coming up in Oct.  I won a tutu from Cole Baby Tutus

on the BirdCrafts blog, and they made it to my 2 1/2 year old's specifications.  Even though they sounded odd, I think it turned out beautifully!

I actually have two parties in the works before it is time for her party.  So just for fun...I thought we should play...
NAME THAT PARTY THEME
At this point I don't have any cool prizes to giveaway to the winners, but that's probably ok, because I will be really surprised if anyone (who I haven't already talked to) will guess one of these.  Here's how it works:  I'm going to tell you who the three parties I am working on are for, and you leave me a comment with your guess as to what theme I am going with for each.  Ready?

PARTY #1-- My son is turning 6.  This isn't the most common party theme out there, but it isn't terribly uncommon either.

PARTY #2 -- My sister-in-law is expecting a baby girl and I am throwing her a shower with a definite theme.  One I don't think I have ever seen done before--at least not in this context.

PARTY #3 -- The easiest to guess.  Partly because of the tutu, and partly because it is one of the most popular parties for girls lately--at least in the blogosphere (probably not in real life).  I feel like a copycat, but I have been planning this for about 2 years (before everyone else was doing it)!  I do have a couple of additions to this party theme I haven't seen elsewhere.  For bonus points, you can take a guess at what I am going to do to make this popular theme more unique!

So what do you think?  And even if no one guesses the right themes, we might inspire those who are looking for fun party themes!

  1. I really am not good at guessing things but I'll give party #3 a shot...a fairy princess party? That seems to be the one I see all the time in the blog world.

  2. ok here I go:
#1- Spaceship (or something with space)

#2 I have two answers: A cookie bar or a Spa theme

#3 Fairy or a Tea Party.

And now I'm off to plan my 15 month old Second birthday...I think I'm going with Monkey.
(and just for kicks my word verification was Flaca, which means skinny...I thought that was funny)

  3. Party 1 - Pirates? Treasure Hunt?

Party 2 - Chocolate fondue!! Oh wait, that's what I want.

Party 3 - Fairies (I thought that before I read the other comments!)

That's a lot of parties to plan. Good luck on your sanity!

  4. Hi Kendra! I'm currently planning 3 parties right now too - and for my daughter, son, and my sister's baby shower!

Here are my guesses for your party themes:

    1) mad scientist for your son

    2) Wonderland Tea Party

    3) enchanted fairy party - seems to be the most popular girl theme right now and my daughter has already chosen it for next year's theme
