This week marked the last of the first days of school for the year! My daughter started Preschool and I started teaching my music classes for the semester.
I thought you might want to see how I captured the new school year in photos. These chalkboards are fairly inexpensive (did I find them at Michaels or Hobby Lobby? Can't remember.) and are actually being used as party of my pantry organization, which I would love to show you, if my pantry were organized (Soon!!!). So it was easy to grab them and a piece of chalk to write the grade they are starting this year, and grab a few photos on the way out the door on the first day.
She is getting so grown up, and using one of her Dad's backpacks---which is twice as wide as she is--since she has so many books this year!
I guess 2nd grade makes you more serious. I had a hard time getting a smile out of this one. Man, he's looking grown-up, too! When did that happen?
Yes, she dressed herself, but has the flair to pull-off the combinations she picks for herself. The cute hairbow is from Chrissy G.'s. She also had to help color the apple on her chalkboard.
And at the risk of looking like I have a favorite child, Tessa had too many cute out-takes not to share:
Someone else wanted to get in on the action, too!
Do you do something special to mark the 1st day of school? Has your family started yet? Are you ready for the routine, or pining for the carefree days of summer?
Your kids are just gorgeous! Love these pics! And the cute little chalkboard!
ReplyDeleteI used a small chalk board too. I happened to pick it up a couple weeks ago in a cute little craft store for $1.17!
ReplyDeleteThat is some serious backpack action going on!
So cute! I love the use of the chalk board in the pics! Totally snagging that idea when my little guys are old enough to start.
