Healthy School Lunch

Lunchbox favors from Trenton's Truck birthday 4 years ago.
Do you struggle with packing a nutritious lunch for your kids that they will actually eat? How nutritious do you feel the school lunch options are for them? Have you come up with clever ways to encourage healthy eating? (Bento boxes anyone?)

If you answered yes to any of those questions, or would like to hear some answers to them, you'll want to join me at The Motherhood, on Wednesday (1pm Eastern) for a discussion on the subject sponsored by TruMoo Chocolate Milk! I'm one of the co-hosts and would love to chat with you and share ideas about this important topic.

Here's a little more info from the website:

School Lunches for Healthy Kids

August 31, 2011

TALK 1:00pm EST

Just in time for the back-to-school season, join us to discuss the importance of tasty and healthy school lunches that include nutrient-rich milk.  The discussion will be led via live video feed by Andrea Carrothers, MS, RD and Nutrition Communications Manager at Dean Foods.  Andrea can help with tips on how to encourage healthier eating at home and at school and demystify the chocolate-milk-in-schools debate playing out on TV and in school meetings from coast to coast.  Come to ask and answer questions, tell us which health-conscious foods your kids love and exchange ideas for school lunches, after-school snacks or breakfast before you and the kids hit the door!

  1. Thanks for sharing your ideas! Packing my daughters lunch each day is quite the challenge... excited to try some new things that I think she'll like!
