AZ Lamb of God Concert

Lamb of God - CD

I don't know if I've told you much about my other insanity. Like several other bloggers I've met, I am passionate about music, particularly singing. I still have lots of yet-to-be checked-off music-related goals/dreams on my bucket list. But I don't find it too practical to pursue most of them while tending to my young children. I also don't want to get too rusty, either, so I do look for opportunities to exercise my voice when I get the chance.

I was so excited to be selected to be part of the choir for the live concert of Rob Gardner's "Lamb of God" being presented this weekend at Gammage Auditorium at ASU.

This isn't the first time I've sung with Rob in one of his amazing productions.

This picture is from several years ago when I was singing with the Arizona Mormon Choir and we participated in Rob's production of Joseph Smith the Prophet, also at Gammage. It was an exhilarating experience for me. I was quick to sign up again to participate in concerts of Saints and Pioneers, and also He is Jesus Christ, as well as a fun Christmas Concert with sacred and secular selections. Each production was a powerful musical experience for me!

If you, or someone you know lives in Arizona, I strongly suggest you get tickets (Friday or Saturday evening) and come surround yourself with some of the most beautiful and powerful music you are likely to ever hear. Even those who are not of a religious inclination will be impressed by the quality of the music.  Listen to a sample of the music in the above video. What's more, it is likely to be a while before this piece is performed again live on a large scale, so don't miss out. You can order your tickets here.

I hope you will forgive the departure from my usual posts, but I am excited that I get to participate in this, and don't want anyone to miss out on the opportunity to hear it!

Are you a musical/creative person, too?

  1. Oh, when I first saw the title I thought it was about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njGppxBBb7E these folks.

    It is not.

Good luck with the performance though!

  3. Congrats! Both of my girls are in choirs. They have loved the experiences and continue to challenge themselves. Musical talent is not mime to claim, I have the artistic genes and get to design the stage sets and lights for the local middle school musicals. I have a confession to make...you scared me for a moment. There is a metal band named "Lamb of God". I thought you might have been a fan?! My hubby is a drummer, so my musical repertoir is VERY diverse. lol
