It's Party Time Again!

Can you believe that I am insane enough to have been blogging for 3 years?  (Longer if you count my personal blog.)  That makes me a Grandma in blog years!  Anyway, my blogiversary is coming this weekend, so you know what that means?....
It is time for my annual Blogiversary Party Party!

So what's a party party?  People have linky parties all over blogland, all of the time, this is a linky party where people submit their real parties for all to enjoy.  But you know I like to throw a good party, so I make it more fun by throwing a little friendly competition and some fabulous prizes.  You can see the awesome finalists from last year here!  The first year's favorites are here!

(Last year's winning Cookies & Milk baby shower by Jen & Jamie)

And while those were awesome, this year's party party is going to be even bigger and better!  I have lots of prizes lined up for more than just one winner (more to come on that later).

And here is the best part...I have invited some guest (or should I say, "Celebrity") judges, to help me with the ridiculously difficult job of picking the finalists!  (Final judging will be up to all of you.)  These are party pros, that probably don't even need any introduction, but if you've been wintering with the Amish (to paraphrase Ryan Seacrest), let me introduce you to...

Kim's work has been everywhere lately!  She's been featured in magazines and newspaper articles, TV appearances, and even contributes to a morning radio show.  She is squeezing in this contest after she makes it back from NY and the Martha Stewart Dreamers into Doers event.  I got to meet Kim at The Laura Winslow Alice in Wonderland themed photo shoot, where my daughter participated as a model.  Kim was so fun to talk to!  And it was great to see her in action (albeit from a far).  She has an amazing eye for design and detail! What makes this even more exciting is that she has agreed to give a $50 credit to her amazing studio as a prize for one of our lucky participants!

Chris is a Pro! She plans parties professionally in Richmond, Virginia.  Her original designs have been featured on numerous web sites including Preston BaileyThe Wedding ChicksAmy Atlas Events, and Hostess With The Mostess.  She has appeared on her local news program, Virginia This Morning, and featured in the Richmond Times Dispatch.  She's taking time out of preparing to go to Blissdom in order to help us out! I've also been really impressed with the work she has done with the March of Dimes and their Operation Shower project.  They throw amazing baby showers for Military Moms.  Her blog is full of eye candy and amazing parties, as well as some easy to replicate party tips.

I'm so excited to have these ladies on board and take advantage of their expertise in what I'm sure will be another ridiculously difficult decision-making process.

SO...get ready for the celebration!  I will have the linky live at the stroke of midnight on Saturday Jan. 15, and it will run through Saturday the 22nd.  During that time you are welcome to link-up as many of your parties as you like that meet the following criteria:
  • The Party occurred in 2010 (That way, you wouldn't have linked it up before).
  • It was a REAL party (not just a product photoshoot--as much as I love to look at those!  I want to see the real parties with real guests and all of the variables that come with them!
  • You (the submitter) played a major role in the planning and execution of the party (others can have helped, but this needs to be your own work and your own blogpost).
  • Most any kind of party is fine (birthday, shower, holiday, etc.)  If your party was for adults only, just make sure your post about it isn't, if you know what I mean.  (I've never had a problem with an entrant in the past, but just to be safe--keep it clean!)
  • Your entry will need to display my party party button so I know you're playing and others can come and play too (you can make it smaller if you really need to)!

Um...those are the only rules I can think of for now, but might think of more by the time the party post goes up.  By entering you are giving me permission to post pictures or small excerpts from your post on my blog, which I will always do with credit and a link.  Any questions?

A few hints:
  • I'm looking at whole parties!  Where possible, show the activities that the guests participated in as well as the food and decorations.  I'd love to get a feel for what it would have been like to have been a guest at that party.
  • I LOVE unique and/or cleverly themed parties, and parties that really take the guest of honor (where applicable) into consideration in the plans and the details.
  • All kinds of budgets are welcome!  I love looking at lavish parties, but am often more impressed by those who can pull of something special without breaking the bank.
So get your parties blogged and ready to go and meet me back here on Saturday, I can't wait to see all of the insanity you've been up to in 2010!
