This is Kate McRae- isn't she a doll? Big, bright eyes and a contagious smile. From the first time I read about this sweet little 7 year old, Kate stole my heart. Today, with permission from Kate’s mom, we (Stephanie, Kristyn, and I) have decided to post about Kate's story on each of our blogs to show our support for Kate and her family.
MEET KATE.
Kate McRae has been through something no child should ever have to go through. She was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer in June 2009. She spent her 6th birthday in the hospital undergoing intense and painful treatments, but with the help of her amazing doctors, her strong family and the prayers from people all over the world, Kate's little body became cancer free.
This past January, Kate's family asked Kim Stoegbauer of The Tom Kat Studio to help plan Kate's 7th birthday party. It was a happy celebration with lots of sweets and even more smiles. Truly this was a day that some feared would never come, so seeing this sweet little girl surrounded by her friends and family on this special day was amazing.
Shortly after the sweet celebration ended, Kate's family was given devastating news regarding Kate's last scan….Kate’s cancer has returned. This precious little 7 year old is once again in the fight of her life, and her family is left praying for a miracle.
This sweet family has been thrown back into the middle of a trial with heartbreak and emotions that are unimaginable. In an effort to help ease their burden and lighten their load, Kristyn, Kendra and I have put together a sponsorship package for our Girl's Night Out with proceeds going to benefit the McRae Family. We have already raised $150 and would love to give more! If you are interested in donating for this cause, we would love to have your help! Please read THIS info on how to become a Sweet Charity Sponsor and email me if you have any questions.
Everyone can help- please spread the word about Kate’s story and send your love and prayers to this family.
You can follow Kate’s progress HERE.
