Are you having as many summer get-togethers and parties as I am? Here's an easy way to dress-up your desserts for most any occasion.
My sisters-in-law made these fun strawberry shortcake trifles for our Mother's Day dinner, by layering cake, whipped cream, and strawberries, in tall cups. But what I thought was really fun was the chocolate garnishes that they put on top. It takes dessert from ordinary to something special.
They used this wilton mold, which worked great,
but you can get a similar effect by just piping melted chocolate on to waxed paper in a swirly design. Put it in the fridge to harden and remove from paper and garnish dessert just before serving. See how I made chocolate names as place settings for this chocolate-themed dinner, here.
I'm having a full and wonderful summer! But I don't currently have reliable internet/computer access, so even though I have so much to share, I might be a bit sporadic on the blog over the next few weeks. I'm also planning some (potentially) big changes for the blog, so pardon the dust if things get a little jumbled around here for a little while. I am really excited to share what I learned at EVO conference and share all of the fun summer insanity that's been going on, but in the mean time, I hope you are as busy making memories as I am!
Super great way to spruce up desserts. Love it!
