Wendy's Pick 2 Giveaway and Sneak Peek

I wish I could have you believe that I never eat lunch that doesn't come out of a perfectly adorned picnic basket or a cleverly arranged bento box, but alas there are no magical mealtime fairies that live in my house. The truth is, I find myself pulling up to drive thrus, more often than I care to admit and I'm often disappointed by lack of affordable and healthy options available for grown-ups at fast food places.

For this and many more reasons, I was thrilled to get the invitation to a bloggers lunch out at Wendy's to sample their new Pick 2 menu.
On the menu, you can choose from a half-size salad and a list of other menu items.  This is my "half-sized" BLT cobb salad but I thought it was plenty big!  And just to make sure I didn't go too healthy...this is my frosty that I chose as my side item.  Actually, this is the 2nd frosty the Wendy's people graciously got for me after I managed to flip my first one upside-down on the check-out counter.  True story!  (How did I do that?)

Frosties are famous in my family...My husband wanted to go to Wendy's on one of our first romantic dates.  I was thinking I wanted a place with a romantic, cozy atmosphere, and he was just thinking that he wanted a frosty.

I got to bring a friend, too.  This is my sister-in-law's (sister's-in-law?--whatever) Baja salad.  It looked really good (why didn't I make her share with me).  My cobb salad was good, but a little salty for my taste.

The salads come with fun dressings like this Avocado Ranch!  Everyone was raving about the Apple Pecan Chicken Salad.  I Definitely plan to go back and try that one.

And here are my other guests enjoying their kids' meals:  My daughter, Tessa, and nephew, Jackson.  They had a lot of  fun, too!

Aside from having a great FREE lunch, it was so nice to meet up with some of my favorite AZ bloggers.  I would have like to have met more of you (let's do it again!), but I had a great time catching up with Steph @ Somewhat Simple, Ashley @ Cute As a Fox (She helped me out with a big favor on my robot party that I still need to blog about), and Jax @ Aly & Ash (Congrats on your news!)  I wish I had grabbed some pictures with them!

Anyway, I want to share the fun with you!  I have a gift card good for $7.00 @ Wendy's--more than enough for your own FREE LUNCH (and who said there was no such thing, anyway?) to GIVEAWAY to one of you!

Just leave me a comment below (with your contact info), letting me know what you would order off of the Pick 2 menu with your gift card.

  • Apple Pecan Chicken Salad, a perfect mix of peak-season red and green apples, real blue cheese crumbles, sweet cranberries and roasted pecans, topped with warm grilled chicken
  • Baja Salad, a hearty Southwestern salad that features fresh pico de gallo, guacamole and Wendy's original chili, all topped with a red jalapeno dressing
  • Spicy Chicken Caesar Salad, offering hand-chopped Romaine lettuce and sweet grape tomatoes topped with shaved Asiago cheese and warm spicy chicken
  • BLT Cobb Salad, which mixes crispy Applewood Smoked Bacon with real blue cheese crumbles, hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes and an avocado ranch dressing
  • Wendy's Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, featuring a hot and juicy beef burger with American cheese and fresh-cooked, thick-cut Applewood Smoked Bacon
  • Wendy's rich and meaty chili
  • a Baked Potato (cooked in an oven, not zapped in a microwave)
  • One of our grilled or spicy homestyle Chicken Go Wraps
  • A refreshing Dasani bottled water, a cool and creamy small Frosty, or any other small-size beverage

Special thanks to Wendy's and the Motherhood for sponsoring this post and the fun bloggers lunch!  They paid for our lunches and will be compensating me for my time.  As always, my words and opinions are my own.

  11. Apple Pecan Salad (they're the best!) and a baked potato (to share with my 7 year old -- her favorite!)

I've dumped a frosty before too, but did mine as soon as I opened the car door (after the drive-thru) in our own driveway -- no re-dos when you're that clumsy!! -- it wasn't pretty.

  12. One of my favorite quick and yummy fast food choices is a Wendy's baked potato and chili. I can't even deny that I may have at one time or another bought Wendy's baked potatoes when I had to whip together dinner at the last minute!
